Young reprobate K Werk (@Roo J) has been keeping himself busy in Brizzle of late, co -organising Palestine fundraisers with the likes of Prosumer and Dave Harvey, alongside buzzy Stretch Collective nights.
He's also been getting this debut EP together for Hooj, and as seems to be the way with youngsters nowadays, all consideration for tempo and mood consistency is out the window.
Opener 'Zizi' is a 140bpm slammer, 4/4kicks colliding with raw breaks, rolling pulse and distorted neo rave riff for a club banger hopefully landing somewhere between the heavier end of a Ben UFO set, and the build up part of , er, an I Hate Models extravaganza (he asked us to not say this). Either way...
' Vargda' takes off down a different path , with tempos right down, and deep, immersive . housey swing enveloping proceedings in hypnotic embrace.
